Miami-Dade County announced on October 28, 2026 a marketing and advertising package "valued at $3.9 million" ahead of GTA 6’s November 19 release, according to a county press release. Mayor Daniella Levine Cava announced it. The package covers an agreement between the county and Rockstar Games, plus separate ad buys through the media companies that sell advertising space at Miami International Airport (MIA) and on the county’s transport network.
The Kaseya Center is part of it. The county says the "Welcome to Vice City" rooftop display on the arena belongs to an earlier $975,000 arrangement with Rockstar, which is included in the $3.9 million. Rockstar covers the production and installation costs. The county says it has allocated that money to the long-awaited park planned for Dan Paul Plaza, behind the arena. Miami New Times reports that the mayor’s communications director confirmed the full $975,000 is going to that park project.
The planned installations, as the county lists them, are themed lighting at MIA and PortMiami, displays on the pedestrian walkways between the airport’s parking garages and its terminals, and decorative wraps on some of the county’s traffic signal cabinets. The county says Rockstar has secured placements through two media companies and pays to install, maintain and remove them. It also says the designs are proposed and remain subject to county approval and county content guidelines. Miami New Times describes early renderings with pink and blue lighting. The release does not break down the rest of the $3.9 million, and we have not found a statement from Rockstar about the package.
The county adds that the City of Miami and Miami Beach have completed their own advertising arrangements: temporary banners in Downtown Miami, and ads on beach concession equipment in Miami Beach. Our earlier story covers the Miami Beach vote.
Two other Miami tie-ins have named, checkable sources. On October 13, Miami New Times reported that Rockstar partnered with Wynwood Walls to give Miami-Dade residents free admission through 2028, with a valid photo ID showing a Miami-Dade address. The same piece says ten murals based on art commissioned for the game will stay up until January 1, 2027, some inside the Walls and others around the neighbourhood.
And on October 21, Kotaku reported that the first TV ad aired on October 20 during NBA opening night games. Kotaku says it was a slightly modified version of the Launch Trailer with two of its three shower moments cut. The outlet’s view is that those shots were too spicy for broadcast TV. We have not seen Rockstar explain the edit.
The Miami Heat’s "A Night in Vice City" game on November 18 is announced and has its own story here. Many other Miami sightings, from beach loungers to bar signs, rest on fan photos and posts rather than an official statement, and this story leaves them out.
GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
