Jason Duval

One of GTA VI’s two playable leads. Rockstar describes an ex-soldier who grew up around grifters and crooks and now works for drug runners in the Leonida Keys, until he meets Lucia.

Jason Duval is the male half of GTA VI’s protagonist pair. Rockstar’s profile says he grew up around grifters and crooks and joined the Army to leave a troubled adolescence behind. He ended up in the Leonida Keys doing the work he knows best, for local drug runners.

He wants an easy life and is not getting one. Rockstar presents meeting Lucia as the turning point, one that could be the best or the worst thing that ever happens to him.

The Launch Trailer adds to that in his own voice: he says he got in trouble in the army and did not leave on the best of terms. In the meantime, Brian Heder lets him live rent-free in one of his properties, as long as Jason helps with local shakedowns.

Playing as Jason

An Extended Look shows Jason being played in missions and around Vice City, including slowing time to aim during a shootout (as Kotaku describes it). Control moves between him and Lucia during the video. Rockstar has not published the full rules for switching.
