Does GTA 6 come on a disc?
No. At launch, physical copies of GTA 6 contain a download code inside the box, not a disc. Rockstar’s store says plainly that a disc will not be included. The boxed version is available from November 12, 2026 so buyers can pre-load.
Take-Two’s pre-order announcement says the physical version contains a download code inside the box. Rockstar’s own store is more direct: physical versions only contain a download code to support pre-load on November 12, and a disc will not be included.
That means you need an internet connection and a PlayStation or Xbox account to install the game, even from a boxed copy. The Ultimate Edition is digital only.

Will GTA 6 get a disc release later?
Nothing has been announced. Polish site PPE.pl, citing an insider, claimed in June 2026 that disc copies would follow in December; Rockstar and Take-Two have not confirmed it.
