How things work in GTA 6

Gangs, clothes, health, driving, homes and romance: what Rockstar and the hands-off previews say each one involves, and what has not been announced.

요약

Rockstar’s own edition listings confirm safehouses, personal garages and three Ultimate Edition style shops (a clothing store, a salon and a tattoo parlour), while interviews with Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson and hands-off previews describe clothing stores and salons across the map, a relationship system, body changes driven by eating, exercise and sleep, rebuilt driving with fuel, and a Wanted and Heat system that tracks your face, clothes and car. Nothing announced lets you build your own gang, buy a house or date anyone but your partner: Jason and Lucia are a two-person crew in a single-player game, and the gangs described so far appear as part of the world or as targets to rob. Most mechanics come from interviews and previews rather than hands-on play, so details could change before the November 19, 2026 launch.

You cannot start your own gang. Your crew is Jason and Lucia, plus who they work for.

  1. No way to start your own gang has been announced

확인되지 않음· Rockstar Newswire pre-order post; IGN preview

Rockstar has not announced any way to form a gang, recruit members or take over territory in GTA 6, and no preview describes one. Rockstar calls the game “a single player experience”, so no online crew system has been announced for launch either. What previews describe instead is a two-person crew, Jason and Lucia, who can work alone or together, and gang hideouts that you rob rather than run.

  2. Your crew is your partner

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews; An Extended Look

IGN says that while playing as one character you can call or text the other at any time, and they will travel to you to help out or just hang out. Robbery targets can be hit solo or as a pair, and jobs done together also strengthen the relationship. In a chase one of them can drive while the other shoots, which An Extended Look shows with Lucia at the wheel and Jason firing out of the window.

  3. Raul Bautista does the recruiting

Rockstar 발표· Only in Leonida page; Rockstar interview (Famitsu)

Rockstar’s profile describes Raul Bautista as a seasoned bank robber who is always looking for talent willing to take big risks for big rewards, and warns that his recklessness means “his crew” will sooner or later have to double down or quit. Rob Nelson told Famitsu about a mission in which Lucia drives while Jason and Raul shoot at police from the back seat, so Raul is someone Jason and Lucia work with, not a crew you assemble. Rockstar has not said whether you get to pick accomplices for his jobs, the way GTA 5’s heists let you hire a driver, gunman and hacker.

  4. Jason starts out working for Brian Heder

Rockstar 발표· Only in Leonida 페이지

Rockstar describes Brian Heder as an old-school Keys drug runner who still moves product through his boat yard and is seasoned enough to leave the dirty work to others. Jason gets to live in one of Brian’s properties without paying rent as long as he helps with local shakedowns. Rockstar’s profiles cast Jason as hired help in someone else’s operation rather than the boss of his own.

  5. Ambrosia의 바이커 갱

Rockstar 발표· Only in Leonida page; Game Informer preview (via VGC)

Rockstar’s description of Ambrosia says the Allied Crystal sugar refinery provides the jobs while the local biker gang provides “almost everything else”, and one of Rockstar’s Ambrosia images shows a motorcycle gang in matching leather vests riding down a road. VGC’s report on Game Informer’s cover story likewise describes a biker gang with real influence in the region. Rockstar has not named the gang or said whether you can join it, work for it or fight it.

  6. PTT Youngin$: a rival gang you can raid

    Rockstar 발표· Ultimate Edition 구성

An Ultimate Edition job, listed by Rockstar as the PTT Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store and by the PlayStation Store as the PTT Youngin$ Compound, has you raid the compound of a gang Rockstar calls “one of Southside Vice City’s loudest and most socially active gangs” and escape with special items and contraband. It confirms that gangs exist in the world as targets. Because Rockstar lists it as Ultimate Edition content, Standard Edition owners should not expect this particular raid.

  7. Gang hideouts are places to rob

보도됨· Rockstar interview (Famitsu); TGG and TroisCouleurs previews (via VICE); Ultimate Edition contents

Rob Nelson told Famitsu that the map can show gang bases along with how much cash or drugs are stored there, and that you can sneak in, take the loot and sell the drugs to a fence. VICE, citing previews by TGG and TroisCouleurs, lists criminal compounds among robbery targets, and the Ultimate Edition’s PTT Youngin$ job is one such raid. As described so far, gangs in GTA 6 are something you rob, not something you run.

  8. Criminal Profile tracks what kind of criminal you are

보도됨· Rockstar interviews (IGN, Famitsu); TGG preview (via VICE and Player. One)

Rob Nelson told IGN that the game tracks what sort of criminal you are, in a system kept separate from the relationship. Consistently going further than a job needs can push the profile one way, small good deeds such as binning your own rubbish also count, and violence that a mission or robbery requires does not necessarily shift it. Nelson told Famitsu the profile judges whether you are a professional or a violent, dangerous criminal, and that the more aggressive you are, the more aggressively people around you respond. VICE and Player. One, citing YouTuber TGG’s preview, add that Jason and Lucia each have their own profile, with named states running from Professional through Aggressive and Violent to Psycho.

  9. Other people in Leonida fight back

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews; An Extended Look

Nelson told IGN that earlier GTA leads were overpowered next to everyone except the police, while in GTA 6 you are “not the only one capable of violence”. IGN adds that NPCs may start fights and that civilians carry weapons too, and GamesRadar+ notes citizens taking the law into their own hands during store and gas-station robberies in An Extended Look. Rival criminals and bystanders look like a real threat rather than easy targets.

Clothes, hair and tattoos

  1. Clothing stores and salons each have exclusive stock

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews (IGN, Famitsu)

IGN reports that hair salons and clothing stores are spread across the map as in past games, but each now carries exclusive items and signature hairstyles so that it pays to visit different ones. Rob Nelson told Famitsu there are countless clothing stores and salons around Leonida, and Kotaku’s round-up says some outfits and equipment are only sold at certain stores. Going shopping or to a salon together also counts as couple time for the relationship.

출처: IGN · Kotaku · Famitsu

  2. Thousands of outfits, earned in missions or bought in shops

    보도됨· Rockstar interview (Famitsu)

Asked by Famitsu whether GTA 6 has more clothing than GTA 5, Rob Nelson said there are thousands of outfits, which you get by completing missions or buying them in shops. He added that customisation, hairstyles included, goes further than in any earlier GTA and that clothing stores and salons are scattered all over the map. Prices and the number of stores have not been given.

    출처: Famitsu · IGN

  3. Designing your own clothes is not confirmed

확인되지 않음· Rockstar interviews (Dazed, Famitsu); Ultimate Edition contents

Nothing from Rockstar or the previews mentions a tool for designing your own clothing, logos or prints, and there is no character creator because Jason and Lucia are fixed characters. Rob Nelson told Dazed the aim is “as much self-expression as possible” while not losing “the essence of the characters”. So far customisation means picking outfits, which Nelson told Famitsu you earn in missions or buy in shops, plus hairstyles, facial hair, makeup, nails and tattoos.

출처: Dazed · Famitsu · Dexerto · Rockstar Games

  4. Ultimate Edition shops: Stock 305, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Electric Fang Tattoo

    Rockstar 발표· Ultimate Edition 구성

Rockstar lists three style destinations that only open for Ultimate Edition owners: Stock 305, a streetwear store in Stockyard with exclusive looks for both leads; Sara’s Unisex Salon, for signature hairstyles plus Jason’s facial hair and Lucia’s makeup and nails; and Electric Fang Tattoo, with more than 50 tattoos designed by the art collective FAILE. Rockstar’s images show Jason with a mullet from Sara’s and a large tattoo across his back, and Lucia being tattooed on her thigh. Rockstar has not named the shops that every player can use, though Rob Nelson told Famitsu that clothing stores and salons are spread all over the map.

출처: Rockstar Games · PlayStation Store · Famitsu

  5. Bonus outfits: Vice City Style, Goodtime Gear and the Vintage Vice City Pack

Rockstar 발표· Ultimate Edition; Vintage Vice City Pack

The Ultimate Edition adds Vice City Style, exclusive outfits and tattoos for both characters (the PlayStation Store listing also mentions hairstyles), and Goodtime Gear, a capsule of clothing and accessories themed on the TV character Macca the Gator. Every pre-order and every purchase made before November 20, 2026 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack, which Rockstar says includes retro outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia alongside the ’55 Vapid Stanier, a garage and a weapon pattern.

  6. In-game fashion labels and a real Miami stylist

    보도됨· Dazed feature (Rockstar-supplied images)

Dazed’s feature, illustrated with images supplied by Rockstar, credits the characters’ outfits to in-game labels: Lucia wears Stock 305 and Jason wears Nola, with other pieces credited to This/That, Ferruccio Tucci and Caliber. Dazed also reports that Miami stylist Jillian Carr has worked with Rockstar since 2023 on a “fashion ecosystem” for Vice City’s population, which GamingBolt also reported. Apart from the Ultimate Edition’s Stock 305 store, Rockstar has not said where these labels are sold.

  7. Trim and shave at home, get new styles at a salon

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews (IGN, Famitsu); TGG preview (via VICE)

IGN reports that, as in RDR2, you can shorten or shave Jason’s and Lucia’s hair and facial hair at a safehouse, while a brand-new style still means a trip to a salon or barber. Rob Nelson told Famitsu that haircuts at home offer only limited choices, and VICE, citing TGG, says hair can be cut shorter at home but not made longer. Kotaku’s summary also lists shaving among the things you can do at home.

출처: IGN · Kotaku · Famitsu · VICE

  8. Swap masks and accessories on the fly

영상에서 확인· An Extended Look; Rockstar North press preview and interviews

Kotaku saw the player flip from the weapon wheel to a wheel of clothing items and pull on a mask before walking into a store to rob it in An Extended Look, much like RDR2’s quick outfit changes, and PC Gamer also noticed masks, glasses and hats being swapped on the fly. IGN says wearing a mask during a crime and taking it off as you leave can stop police getting a description of you at all, even if CCTV catches you.

출처: Kotaku · IGN · PC Gamer

  9. Outfits matter for escaping the police

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews (IGN, Famitsu); An Extended Look

Icons under the Wanted stars show whether police know your face and your outfit. IGN reports that a new haircut clears the appearance icon, but glasses or a new hat will not shake the clothing description; you need a full change, which is why it suggests keeping spare clothes in your car’s trunk. Rob Nelson told Famitsu that changing at a clothing store means you no longer match the description police were given. Kotaku’s summary lists a new hat as one option, so exactly what counts as a disguise is still a little unclear.

출처: IGN · Kotaku · Push Square · Famitsu

  10. Disguises and outfit changes in story missions

    영상에서 확인· An Extended Look

TechRadar noticed Jason and Lucia using disguises and new identities for certain clients in An Extended Look, such as working security at a party, and Lucia appearing with many different hairstyles. Push Square points to outfits for the occasion, from tank tops and tees to suits and sequin dresses.

Health, food and fitness

  1. Eating gives a big health boost

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews (IGN, Famitsu)

IGN, reporting from Rockstar’s demo, says eating gives a substantial boost to a character’s health, and Kotaku’s summary agrees. Rob Nelson told Famitsu that food gives temporary boosts to the character’s gauges, for example an energy drink tops up stamina, and that bonus health from food is lost once health falls below its normal maximum. Rockstar has not explained whether health also refills on its own, or how fast.

출처: IGN · Kotaku · Famitsu

  2. Overeat and you put on weight

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews; Rockstar interviews (TGG, Dazed)

Overeating makes Jason or Lucia gain weight, and IGN says body stats like weight and muscle are back for the first time since GTA: San Andreas. Nelson told TGG you “have to actually eat quite a bit” before it shows, GamesRadar+ reported, adding that the result can be seen in some screenshots. Rockstar has not said whether extra weight changes stamina or how much damage you can take.

    출처: IGN · GamesRadar+ · GamesRadar+ (2) · Dexerto · Dazed

  3. Gyms are in the game

Rockstar 발표· Only in Leonida 페이지, An Extended Look

Rockstar’s Only in Leonida page shows Lucia punching a heavy bag in a gym, and gyms appear in the activity list from Game Informer’s cover story, as reported by VGC. An Extended Look also shows Lucia lifting weights using on-screen button prompts, GamesRadar+ notes, and Push Square spotted weight lifting too.

출처: Rockstar Games · VGC · GamesRadar+ · Push Square

  4. Training builds muscle, and it fades if you stop

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews (IGN, Famitsu); Rockstar interview (TGG)

IGN says going to the gym makes Jason and Lucia more muscular and stronger, and that you can train alone or as a couple. Nelson told TGG that muscle built this way goes away if you stop maintaining it, as GamesRadar+ and IBTimes UK reported. He told Famitsu that training raises the base values of health and stamina, but how much stronger it makes you in a fight has not been explained.

    출처: IGN · GamesRadar+ · IBTimes UK · Famitsu

  5. Gym workouts are a minigame with lasting gains

보도됨· Rockstar interview (Famitsu); TGG and TroisCouleurs previews (via VICE)

Rob Nelson told Famitsu that working out is a responsive minigame: stamina drains as you go, you must finish each set before it runs out, and moving too fast puts extra strain on the body. A routine of three exercises followed by rest, repeated over three days, levels up a character’s fitness and strength, most equipment can be used, pull-ups included, and a protein shake and bar round off the session. VICE, citing previews by TGG and TroisCouleurs, adds that gyms are optional, that you buy a membership at the front desk, and that cardio builds stamina while strength work builds health.

  6. Sleep is tracked, and it affects recovery

    보도됨· Rockstar interviews (TGG, Dazed)

Nelson told YouTuber TGG that an in-game health app shows whether Jason and Lucia are well rested, and that this has “some effect on regen of certain attributes”. He did not say which attributes, and TheGamer and IBTimes UK both note the details are unclear. Separately, Dazed reports that long stretches away from bed, whether spent hiding from the police or partying for days, take a visible toll on the characters’ faces.

  7. No grocery runs: Rockstar cut fridge restocking

보도됨· Rockstar interview (Famitsu); An Extended Look

Nelson told Famitsu, in an interview translated by GamesRadar+, that Rockstar experimented with buying groceries to restock the fridge but simplified it because it made the mechanics too complicated. He said the team wants each action to have meaning rather than eating purely for role-play. Fridges are still there, with Kotaku seeing Jason checking one for food and drinks in An Extended Look, and VICE and IBTimes UK, citing TGG, say snacks and drinks can still be bought.

  8. Jason and Lucia sweat when they exert themselves

보도됨· An Extended Look; Bloomberg report (via GamesRadar+); TroisCouleurs preview (via VICE)

Kotaku spotted the pair getting sweaty while lifting weights, dancing and shooting in An Extended Look. GamesRadar+ relays Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier saying Rockstar told him the amount of sweat depends on how much effort the characters are putting in, such as dancing hard in a club. VICE and IBTimes UK say the French outlet TroisCouleurs also saw visible sweat after sprinting. Nobody has said whether sweat has a gameplay effect.

  9. Wasted and Busted are still here, and carried cash is at risk

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews (IGN, Famitsu); TGG preview (via VICE)

IGN says the classic “Busted” screen returns if either character is arrested, and you respawn even if the other is still escaping; Nelson himself got Wasted in the demo when a car sideswiped him. Nelson told Famitsu that cash you carry can be lost when you are Wasted or Busted, and that being taken down by police or civilians after causing trouble costs all of it, so money is safer in the bank. VICE, citing TGG, adds that cash has to be paid in at an ATM. Rockstar has not said whether hospitals charge you, as they did in GTA 5.

Driving, cars and the police

  1. Rebuilt handling: GTA 4’s weight, GTA 5’s accessibility

    보도됨· Rockstar interview (TGG)

Asked by YouTuber TGG whether GTA 6’s driving is weighty, Rob Nelson replied “Only in the best way possible”, saying the team kept the best of GTA 4’s weight and feel while keeping GTA 5’s accessibility. He said the physics were built from scratch for current hardware, with far finer tuning of the drivetrain, tyres, suspension and steering. GamesRadar+, GamingBolt and IBTimes UK reported the interview; GamesRadar+ points out that no one outside Rockstar had played it at that stage.

    출처: GamesRadar+ · GamingBolt · IBTimes UK

  2. Cars feel more distinct, and fast ones go faster

    보도됨· Rockstar interviews (TGG, Famitsu)

Nelson told TGG that every car feels very different and that the fast ones reach much higher speeds than in GTA 5, according to GamingBolt. He added that powerful rear-wheel-drive cars such as muscle cars need a careful throttle, and VICE’s summary of TGG’s notes says taking a supercar off-road is much harder. Nelson also told Famitsu that on PS5 the adaptive triggers let you vary acceleration by how far you pull the trigger. If that holds, smooth throttle control and picking the right car for the terrain will matter more than before.

출처: GamingBolt · VICE · Famitsu

  3. Real racing drivers work on the handling

    보도됨· Dazed feature on Rockstar

Dazed, which interviewed Rockstar’s senior developers for its feature, reports that the team responsible for vehicle handling is made up of real race-car drivers. VGC and Dexerto repeated the detail. Rockstar has not said what the drivers changed.

  4. Cars need fuel, and electric cars need charging

보도됨· TGG preview at Rockstar North

TGG, who saw the game at Rockstar North, reported that you refuel at gas stations through a short prompt lasting about ten seconds and that electric cars need recharging, as GamesRadar+, VICE and IBTimes UK relayed. Nelson called it “pretty fast for a fill-up” and said “We’ll see what people say”. TGG’s view was that fuel mostly matters if you grab a random car for a getaway without checking the tank.

    출처: GamesRadar+ · GamingBolt · VICE · IBTimes UK

  5. Repairs at gas stations; Pay ’n’ Spray returns

보도됨· TGG preview; Rockstar interviews (IGN, Famitsu)

GamesRadar+ says TGG reported a choice at gas stations between repairing your vehicle and refuelling it, and VICE’s summary also says gas stations fix damaged cars. Nelson told IGN that the Waink app shows what a car is worth at a Pay ’n’ Spray, so the chain is back, and VICE says it repairs cars, changes their basic colour and removes a vehicle’s heat. Nelson told Famitsu that a Pay ’n’ Spray is also where you can register a stolen car as your own, that fancier paint jobs need a tuning shop, and that after selling a car at one you have to wait before bringing another there.

    출처: GamesRadar+ · IGN · VICE · Famitsu

  6. Denser traffic and narrower streets

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews (IGN, Famitsu)

IGN reports that GTA 6’s streets are narrower and its traffic denser than before, for the sake of realism, and Nelson told Famitsu the roads are now close to real-world widths. That makes clean high-speed driving harder, which matters for car boosting, since a stolen car delivered to a fence with damage is worth less. Nelson says that at three stars or more in the city, getting away by car is tough without a very fast car or a sports bike, so ducking into alleys on foot is often the better move.

    출처: IGN · IGN (2) · GamesRadar+ · VICE · Famitsu

  7. Getting a car: slim jims, key cloners and trackers

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews (IGN, Famitsu); An Extended Look

Parked cars come in security tiers: older ones open with a slim jim or a smashed window, while prestige cars need a key cloner that you only get later in the story, though anyone driving can still be carjacked. Nelson told Famitsu you can sometimes just shout at a driver to get out, though some refuse or even shoot back. The Waink phone app scans a car to show its value, registration cost, locks, alarm and tracker. Some cars carry trackers that alert police if you drive too slowly, so you either keep your speed up or ditch the car.

  8. Registering and keeping cars

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews (IGN, Famitsu); TGG preview (via VICE, IBTimes UK)

IGN says Waink shows what it costs to register a car as your personal vehicle, and that each character can keep several personal vehicles at safehouses, with working trunks for spare clothes and weapons. Nelson told Famitsu you start with room for three personal vehicles, so registering a fourth means selling one unless you buy more garage space, and that an unregistered stolen car stays around for a while but is gone once you restart the game. VICE, citing TGG, adds that high-end cars cannot be registered early in the game and that a stolen car can be hidden in a garage until you can register it. VICE and IBTimes UK say the Scooter Bros app brings a personal vehicle to you.

  9. Police remember your car

영상에서 확인· An Extended Look; Rockstar North press preview and interviews

Icons under the Wanted stars show what police know, including your vehicle. In An Extended Look the pair break contact, swap vehicles and watch a police car roll past without recognising them, as GamesRadar+ describes, and in another chase Lucia torches a car before switching to a van. Nelson told IGN that once the police know what you are driving, you should simply get out of it.

    출처: GamesRadar+ · GamesRadar+ (2) · PC Gamer · IGN

  10. Heat: police remember what they know

보도됨· Rockstar interviews (TGG, Famitsu); TGG preview (via VICE)

Rob Nelson told YouTuber TGG, as GamesRadar+ reported, that Rockstar wanted police to have “a bit more persistent memory”, shown as Heat icons under the Wanted stars for things they know, such as your clothes or car. He told Famitsu that police search a Heat area, that leaving it ends the search, and that getting back into a car they have flagged can give you away again. You can strip away clues one at a time by ditching the car, changing clothes or your look, or throwing away the weapon you used, as VICE also describes.

    출처: GamesRadar+ · Famitsu · VICE

  11. Six Wanted stars, and crimes need a witness

보도됨· An Extended Look; Rockstar North press preview and interviews

The Wanted level goes back up to six stars after GTA 5’s five, which GamesRadar+, Push Square and TechRadar all spotted in An Extended Look, and Nelson told IGN a crime is only reported if someone sees it or an alarm goes off. IGN says one star is meant to be fairly easy to lose and that hollow stars mean police have no description of you. Police no longer appear on the minimap: Nelson told TGG, as GamesRadar+ reported, that they show up when you use Focus instead.

    출처: IGN · IGN (2) · Push Square · TechRadar · GamesRadar+ · GamesRadar+ (2)

  12. Traffic laws: no sign of tickets for speeding or red lights

    확인되지 않음· Not announced

Neither Rockstar nor any preview we checked says police in GTA 6 react to speeding, running red lights or other traffic offences. What Nelson has described is that a crime has to be witnessed or set off an alarm before police respond. Treat claims about traffic tickets or pull-overs as unconfirmed.

  13. Safe zones where you can’t steal cars

    보도됨· Rockstar interview (Famitsu)

Rob Nelson told Famitsu that some places are protected: you cannot steal cars outside Dre’Quan’s club, because it belongs to Jason’s friend, and the areas around safehouses and some story locations work as safe zones. Rockstar has not published a full list.

  14. Let your partner drive

영상에서 확인· An Extended Look; Rockstar North press preview and interviews

When Jason and Lucia share a car you can switch seats and let the other drive, either to relax with the radio on or to shoot from the passenger side during a chase, IGN reports. An Extended Look shows Lucia driving while Jason fires out of the window, which GamesRadar+ and TechRadar both describe. Dazed describes cruising as Jason or switching to Lucia, riding alongside, to browse her phone, and Push Square adds that control swaps between them instantly while they are together.

  15. Track racing and other things to drive

영상에서 확인· An Extended Look; Game Informer preview (via VGC)

An Extended Look shows races on a proper circuit with cars and bikes, TechRadar and Push Square note, and the activity list from Game Informer’s cover story, via VGC, includes street and off-road racing, airboats and jet skis. GamesRadar+ says the racing clips look like a showcase for Rockstar’s improved vehicle handling.

  16. Shoot out tyres to stop pursuers

    영상에서 확인· An Extended Look

TechRadar points to pursuing police cars flipping and crashing after their tyres are shot out in An Extended Look, and GamingBolt saw shot-up vehicles roll several times or spin out of control. Rockstar has not shown how your own car handles on a flat.

  17. Don’t want to drive? Take a Ryde Me

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews; TGG preview (via VICE, IBTimes UK)

IGN says you can fast travel with Ryde Me, the game’s ride-hailing app, and have full conversations with a passenger on the way. Kotaku notes you can even chat with strangers sharing the ride. VICE and IBTimes UK, citing TGG, list buses, trains, trams and taxis as other ways to get around. Rockstar has not said what a ride costs.

  1. Safehouses work like RDR2’s camps

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews (IGN, Famitsu)

IGN reports that Jason and Lucia can share a safehouse while keeping their own schedules, and that safehouses work more like RDR2’s camps than earlier GTA homes: other people can drop in, and one home in the demo belonged to someone else. Dexerto quotes Nelson saying the comparison is about “how interactive they are and how much they feel like your home”. Nelson told Famitsu the story moves through chapters and the characters change safehouses as it goes.

  2. Jason doesn’t own his home

Rockstar 발표· Only in Leonida page; Ultimate Edition contents

Rockstar says Brian is letting Jason stay in one of his properties without paying rent, as long as he helps with local shakedowns. Rockstar’s Ultimate Edition images show Jason’s safehouse with his Vapid Ganado, Dinka Enduro and Crest Kayak parked outside. Rockstar has not published the safehouse’s exact location, though Nelson told Famitsu the story begins in the Leonida Keys, where Jason’s first home is.

  3. Buying a house: not announced

보도됨· Rockstar interview (Famitsu); TGG preview (via VICE)

Rockstar has not announced any way to buy a house, apartment or business in GTA 6. Rob Nelson told Famitsu that the story moves in chapters and the characters move from safehouse to safehouse as it goes, and VICE, citing TGG’s preview, says safehouses cannot be bought at all. Rockstar has not said whether any other property is for sale.

  4. Personal garages: confirmed, and reportedly for sale

Rockstar 발표· Vintage Vice City Pack; Ultimate Edition; Rockstar interview (Famitsu); TGG preview (via VICE)

Rockstar confirms personal garages: the Vintage Vice City Pack pairs the ’55 Vapid Stanier with a garage, and the Ultimate Edition’s Paradise Garage in Watson Bay has a weapon locker plus a secure place to leave stolen goods for a fence. Rob Nelson told Famitsu that you start with space for three personal vehicles and can buy garages around the map to own more, and VICE, citing TGG, also says garages can be bought. Garage prices and locations beyond these two have not been announced.

  5. What you can do at home

영상에서 확인· An Extended Look; Rockstar North press preview and interviews (IGN, Famitsu); TGG preview (via IBTimes UK)

In An Extended Look, Jason waits for Lucia, chooses a beer from the fridge and sits down to watch TV, Push Square notes, and Kotaku spotted a prompt for switching lights in Lucia’s apartment. IGN says safehouses are where you can trim or shave hair and keep several personal vehicles, and IBTimes UK says TGG watched Nelson have Jason eat an apple, bin the core and shave at a bathroom mirror. Nelson told Famitsu the couple share a bed and that a used coffee mug has to be put down somewhere sensible, not dropped on the floor. If you are out late, your partner may text to remind you to lock up.

  6. Money matters more than in GTA 5

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews (IGN, Famitsu)

Rob Nelson told IGN, in the full interview that GamesRadar+ quoted in October, that “we have made money matter more in this story” than in earlier GTA games, and that at times you will have to raise money, for example by boosting cars or holding up places, before the main missions continue. He told Famitsu that mission pay alone will not be enough to fund the story. VICE says Rockstar acknowledged GTA 5’s problem of handing players millions late in the story with too little to spend it on. Extra garages are one reported purchase, but Rockstar has not said what else money buys.

Jason and Lucia’s relationship

  1. The romance is optional

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews (IGN, Famitsu)

Jason and Lucia start out wanting to give a relationship a try, but Nelson told IGN that just playing the story may not be enough to keep them together; you have to spend time with each other in the open world. He told Famitsu you choose whether they get through things as a couple or as partners who are not a couple. IGN says romance brings no gameplay bonuses and the pair can be played more as a platonic partnership, and either way the story keeps them working together as partners in crime for most of the game.

  2. How to strengthen the bond

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews; TGG and TroisCouleurs previews (via VICE)

IGN lists exploring Leonida, going shopping, visiting hair salons, exercising together and committing robberies together as ways to grow the relationship, and Nelson also mentions pool, mini golf and kayaking. VICE, citing previews by TGG and the French outlet TroisCouleurs, says dates happen naturally, such as a zoo trip, a kayak outing, a beach walk or a shared gym session, rather than through a fixed dating system, and Absolute Geeks reports the same.

  3. Ignore your partner’s texts and the relationship suffers

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews

If you spend most of a day apart, your partner may text to say they are heading to bed or to remind you to lock up, and ignoring those messages can hurt the relationship, IGN reports. IGN’s interview adds that you can text to say goodnight or ask your partner to come and meet you. Kotaku’s summary repeats that ignoring texts counts against you.

  4. Holding hands and holding doors

영상에서 확인· An Extended Look; Rockstar North press preview and interviews

A pull of the right trigger lets you hold hands while out together, and the two can hold doors open for each other, IGN says. Kotaku and GamesRadar+ both spotted hand-holding in An Extended Look, and GamesRadar+ also saw a heart icon linking the pair with an angry emoji beneath it, which may show their mood. Nelson told Famitsu that holding hands and kissing are lost if the relationship is not built up, though effort can win them back.

  5. Getting a girlfriend: no other romance options announced

    확인되지 않음· Not announced

The only romance Rockstar or the previews have described is between Jason and Lucia, and nothing announced lets you date other characters. VICE reports that the fixed dating system of GTA: San Andreas and GTA 4 gives way to dates that happen naturally between the couple. As far as anyone knows, Jason’s girlfriend in GTA 6 is Lucia, and Lucia’s boyfriend is Jason.

  6. Relationship status, not a romance meter

보도됨· Rockstar interview (Famitsu); TGG preview (via VICE)

Rob Nelson told Famitsu that a status showing the state of the relationship can be checked in the game, that letting it slide removes options such as holding hands and kissing, and that effort can bring them back. VICE, citing TGG’s preview, and Absolute Geeks report that the relationship moves between states rather than filling a visible romance meter, and VICE says the couple can text, say goodnight, hold hands and walk arm in arm. Rockstar has not explained what the states are called.

  7. How close they are changes the story

보도됨· Rockstar North press preview and interviews (IGN); Dazed feature

IGN reports that however tense things get, Jason and Lucia will still have each other’s backs, but how close they are at certain points affects how their story plays out. Nelson declined to say more to avoid spoilers. Dazed, which interviewed Rockstar’s senior developers, reports that choices involving the couple can have deeper consequences than in Rockstar’s earlier games or their honour systems.

How GTA 5 and Red Dead 2 did it

Rockstar’s last two games, for comparison. None of this is confirmed for GTA 6 unless a section above says so.

아직 알 수 없음

Rockstar가 아직 밝히지 않은 것( 2026년 10월 20일기준). 밝혀지면 채워 넣겠습니다.

  • Exactly what the health app tracks, which attributes sleep affects, and whether weight changes stamina, strength or damage taken.
  • How quickly fuel runs out, where electric cars can charge, and how crashes affect the characters themselves.
  • Whether police enforce traffic laws such as speeding or red lights; no source mentions it.
  • Whether any house, apartment or business can be bought; where garages are, what they cost, and how many extra vehicles they hold beyond the three starting slots Nelson described.
  • Whether either character can romance anyone else, what the relationship states are called, and how the relationship changes the ending.
  • How the Criminal Profile affects the world and the story in practice.
  • Almost every mechanic here comes from hands-off previews and interviews rather than hands-on play, and Rockstar’s Phil Hooker told Bloomberg the game is “never completely settled”, so details may change before launch on November 19, 2026.

FAQ

How do you make a gang in GTA 6?

As far as anyone knows, you can’t: Rockstar has not announced any way to found a gang, recruit members or take territory. Jason and Lucia work as a two-person crew, and Rockstar calls GTA 6 a single-player experience.

Can you recruit gang members in GTA 6?

Not that Rockstar has said. Characters such as Raul Bautista recruit Jason and Lucia for jobs, but no system for recruiting followers of your own has been announced.

Are there gangs in GTA 6?

Yes. Rockstar mentions Ambrosia’s local biker gang and the PTT Youngin$ of Southside Vice City, whose compound you raid in an Ultimate Edition job, and Rob Nelson told Famitsu the map can point you to gang bases stocked with cash or drugs to steal. Whether you can join or side with any gang is not known.

Does GTA 6 have crews like GTA Online?

Not that Rockstar has announced: it describes GTA VI as a single-player experience. GTA Online’s Crews, Organizations and Motorcycle Clubs have not been announced for GTA 6.

How do you design your clothes in GTA 6?

No clothing designer has been confirmed. Rob Nelson told Famitsu there are thousands of outfits, earned in missions or bought in shops, and Rockstar lists salon styles, makeup, nails and tattoos, some of them only in Ultimate Edition shops.

Can you change your hair in GTA 6?

Yes. IGN reports you can trim or shave hair and facial hair at a safehouse, Nelson told Famitsu the choices there are limited, and a new style needs a salon or barber; a fresh haircut can also stop police recognising your face.

Are there tattoos in GTA 6?

Yes. Rockstar lists Electric Fang Tattoo, with more than 50 designs by FAILE, but it only opens for Ultimate Edition owners; tattoo shops for every player have not been listed yet.

How do you stay healthy in GTA 6?

Going by what Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson has described: eat to restore health but not so much that you gain weight, work out at the gym, where a short routine repeated over three days raises fitness and strength, and keep it up or the muscle fades, and sleep, because a health app tracks rest and it affects how some attributes regenerate. Exact numbers have not been given.

Do you have to eat in GTA 6?

Eating gives a substantial health boost, IGN reports, but nobody has said you are penalised for skipping meals. Rockstar cut a system for buying groceries to restock the fridge.

Can you get fat in GTA 6?

Reportedly yes: overeating makes Jason and Lucia gain weight, though Nelson says you have to eat quite a lot before it shows. Whether weight affects stamina or toughness has not been said.

Do you need to sleep in GTA 6?

Sleep is tracked: Nelson says a health app shows whether the characters are well rested, which affects how certain attributes regenerate, and Dazed reports that long stretches without sleep take a visible toll on their faces. How strict it is will only be clear at launch.

How do you drive in GTA 6?

Rob Nelson says the handling was rebuilt from scratch to mix GTA 4’s weight with GTA 5’s accessibility, with each car feeling different and fast cars reaching higher speeds than in GTA 5. Previews so far have been hands-off, so how it feels in your hands is unconfirmed.

Do you need gas in GTA 6?

According to YouTuber TGG’s preview, yes: cars need fuel, electric cars need charging, and a fill-up takes about ten seconds at a gas station. Nelson acknowledged players may be split on it.

Do cops pull you over for speeding in GTA 6?

Nothing confirms it. Rockstar has only said that a crime must be witnessed or set off an alarm before police get involved; traffic offences have not been mentioned.

How do you lose the cops in GTA 6?

Previews describe breaking line of sight and then removing what police know about you, shown as Heat icons: swap cars, change your whole outfit, get a haircut, ditch the weapon you used, or split Jason and Lucia up, and police only show up when you use Focus rather than on the radar. At three or more stars in the city, Nelson suggests leaving the car for the alleys unless you have something very fast.

Can you buy a house in GTA 6?

Not as far as anyone knows. Rockstar has confirmed safehouses and personal garages; Rob Nelson told Famitsu you move between safehouses as the story progresses and can buy extra garages, and VICE, citing YouTuber TGG, says safehouses cannot be bought.

Where do you live in GTA 6?

Jason starts out living rent-free in one of Brian Heder’s properties in return for help with shakedowns, and Nelson told Famitsu the story begins in the Leonida Keys, where Jason’s first home is. An Extended Look also shows Lucia’s apartment, and IGN says the two can share a safehouse.

How do you get a girlfriend in GTA 6?

No dating system for other characters has been announced. The romance in GTA 6 is between Jason and Lucia, and it grows if you spend time together outside missions, for example shopping, visiting salons, exercising, playing mini golf or pulling robberies.

Can Jason and Lucia break up in GTA 6?

Nelson told IGN their romance may not last if you neglect it, and told Famitsu that a weak relationship loses options such as holding hands and kissing, which effort can win back. Either way, the story keeps them working together as partners in crime for most of the game.

Does the relationship give bonuses in GTA 6?

No. IGN reports there are no specific gameplay benefits for a strong romance, though how close the pair are changes which affectionate interactions you get and affects how the story plays out.

Where do you buy clothes in GTA 6?

Rob Nelson says clothing stores and salons are spread across the map, each with some exclusive stock, and outfits also come from missions. Stock 305, Sara’s Unisex Salon and Electric Fang Tattoo only open with the Ultimate Edition.

How do you get muscles in GTA 6?

Work out at a gym. Rob Nelson told Famitsu that a short routine repeated over three days raises fitness and strength, IGN says gym visits make Jason and Lucia more muscular, and Nelson told TGG the muscle fades if you stop training.
