The state
Leonida
GTA VI is set across a whole state: Leonida, Rockstar’s take on Florida. Vice City is the heart of it, and Rockstar has profiled five more regions around it, from a tropical island chain to a national park on the northern border.

Vice City
GTA VIの中心となる都市で、2002年の『Vice City』以来となる、Vice Cityを舞台にしたナンバリング作品です。Rockstarの売り文句は、80年代から数十年を経た今も、アメリカの太陽と遊びの都であるというもの。

Mount Kalaga National Park
Leonidaの北の州境にある国立公園。狩猟、釣り、オフロードのトレイルが楽しめ、政府と距離を置く山奥の住民たちが暮らしています。
What we still don’t know
- The exact size. Rockstar calls it its biggest map “by some degree”, reported as about twice GTA 5’s, but every square-mile figure online is an estimate.
- Whether the six profiled regions are the whole state or a selection.
- How you travel between regions, and whether there is fast travel.
- Whether any region is locked until later in the story.
We will fill these in from the game itself after November 19. Until then, see how big the GTA 6 map is and getting around Leonida.

What is Leonida in GTA 6?
Leonida is the fictional US state GTA VI is set in, Rockstar’s take on Florida. Vice City is its main city, and Rockstar has profiled five more regions: the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park.
Is Leonida based on Florida?
Yes, in the same way Vice City is the series’ Miami. Rockstar calls Leonida the sunniest place in America and tours it as “the sunshine state”, Florida’s nickname, and its regions follow suit: an island chain, wetlands, a faded coastal resort and an inland refinery town.
How many regions are in Leonida?
Rockstar has profiled six on its official site. It describes them as a few of the must-see destinations, so there may be more places than these six.
Is there an official GTA 6 map?
Not yet. Rockstar has not published a map of Leonida. The map on this page is our own stylised guide to where the regions sit, not game data.
How big is Leonida?
Bigger than any map Rockstar has made. In Game Informer’s September 2026 cover story, Rockstar’s Aaron Garbut called it the studio’s biggest map “by some degree”, and VGC reports he described it as about twice the size of GTA 5’s. There is no official figure in square miles.
