What has been shown of the wanted system, and why nobody can give you verified escape tactics yet.
Rockstar has not described GTA VI’s wanted system. Trailer footage shows police pursuit, but the number of wanted levels, the search mechanics and what breaks line of sight are all unknown until launch.
Escaping the police is one of the most searched GTA mechanics, and one of the easiest to write confidently wrong about before a game releases.
What has been shown
Police pursuit appears in official footage. That is it. Whether GTA VI uses a star system, a search-cone system like Red Dead Redemption 2, or something new has not been stated.
Why the usual advice may not apply
GTA V advice — break line of sight, change vehicle, wait out the search cone — is specific to GTA V’s implementation. Rockstar has changed pursuit systems substantially between games before, and applying old rules to a new one is how bad guides get written.
